Karbonn aren’t the only Indian phone maker to launch a phone today, Micromax have released their Canvas Selfie phone, a model that looks very familiar to us.

Micromax one of the most popular phone makers in India, and part of their success comes down to the fact they simply rebrand Chinese phones saving them from development costs. The latest example of rebranding is the Micromax Canvas Selife.

The Selfie looks a lot like the Meitu 2 which launched last year and unsurprisingly features the same beautification features as the Chinese phone including Eye enhancement, slimming, Teeth Whitening, Makeup etc.

Gizchina News of the week

The 5.7-inch HD display is an IPS model and helps to make the phone nice and portable, and with 13 mega-pixel front and rear, plus a dual LED rear flash you should be able to snap some impressive photos with it. Processing comes in the form of a 1.7Ghz MT6595  MT6592 chipset with 2GB RAM, a last ten 32bit processor with no LTE support. Still it does offer Corning Gorilla Glass 3, dual SIM and Micro SD.

A blue and while version will be available both of which feature a textured leather look cover and faux stitching.
