You can now download the OnePlus Oxygen OS Weather App

The Chinese OnePlus team have released the weather application from the upcoming OnePlus ROM to download and run on phone with Android 4.3 and above.

While the official Oxygen ROM might have been delayed certain aspects of the ROM are already ready for testing and that is exactly what the Chinese OnePlus team are offering by releasing their weather application early.

Technically this is the weather app for Hydrogen OS (the Chinese version of the ROM) but chances are the application will look the same for both versions of the ROM. I have installed the .apk on my Xiaomi Mi Note and found the app to be translated to English already, but it currently only supports weather for Chinese locations. Still it gives us a good first glimpse at what the OP ROM will look like.

Personally I quite like the cartoony UI, it reminds me of the short animations Google make for their Santa tracker, but not all OnePlus users are happy with the UI with one commenter saying it looked like it had been made in MS Paint.

Download the OnePlus Weather .apk here and take a look for yourself, just don’t expect any actual weather data unless you are in China.
