Metal body, 1080, 3GB RAM and MT6752 confirmed for bezel-less Oppo R7

With no bezels on either side of the Oppo R7’s display an all alloy unibody has been confirmed to keep the device safe and feeling good.

Oppo China have released a side profile image of the Oppo R7 today confirming the phone will feature an all alloy unibody design. The R7 has been seen in various photos and video with a borderless design, and we can see from this image that the edge of the glass screen has a 2.5D curve before meeting the beveled edge of the alloy chassis.

The image shows a very detailed design which oozes the usual Oppo attention to detail and is surely going to feel and look very premium once in the hand.

Gizchina News of the week

In addition to an alloy body and 2.5D display the image also shows the location of at least one SIM or SD card tray, and confirms that the thin Oppo phone will feature a protruding camera design.

According to TENAA documentation the Oppo R7 will come with a 5-inch 1080 display, 3GB RAM and features an octacore processor running at 1.7Ghz (sounds like an MT6752 to us). LTE will be supported while the cameras are 8 mega-pixel front and 13 mega-pixel rear.

Oppo will officially announced the Oppo R7 later this month.

Just spotted a Gionee with 6 inch 1440p and SD810 or MT6795 on TENAA http://shouji.tenaa.com.cn/mobile/MobileDetail.aspx?code=iZY%2foeDbiZZWNyn25kQcax9NH0BOHJt7qj7rdqvn29Y%3d

Well, that’s still only half the price of an i.e. HTC One M9, which IMHO is an overpriced phone with an overheated Snapdragon 810 that’s not necessarily faster that an MTK 6752 soc.

but it is double the price of other 6752 phones!

M9 costs 649$, this one will cost as much as the M9, no way that they’ll price it for 325$.
If you don’t live in China then deal with no warranty, risk of paying custom duties etc.
It’s a nice phone, but definitely not worth the money.

I noticed this phone on sale on Aliexpress yesterday and the seller reckons they have it in stock. Was priced at over £450 ($680+) for an MT6752 powered phone! No thank you, however the build quality did look sumptuous I have to say as they had some very detailed close up images of the phone. I’m guessing your paying for the build quality more than the hardware but I would buy a Vivo over Oppo any day for a lot less!

i assume they would want top dollar for this the specs are a joke, think id much prefer the zenfone 2 (ze551ml) i could spend £250 on a zenfone and get 4gb ram, 2.3ghz cpu and 64gb rom
