UMi to release details of their UMi Iron soon

UMi have just released their big battery UMi eMax today at $159.99, but it looks like it won’t be the only one this month as details of the UMi Iron are slowly being seeded.

So far we don’t have any details of the UMi Iron other than confirming its name and the above photo. From the photo we can see that the device appears to be a unibody alloy phone, and we can just make out the use of a dual LED flash.

Gizchina News of the week

From their recent launch of the eMax we have seen UMi go up to 5.5-inch displays and larger battery specifications, a trend we feel they will continue with their new device. With the weekend here, we will try to get more details of the UMi Iron early next week.

How do you pronounce it? Is it /yumi/ or /oomi/ as in ‘ocean’ in Japanese?

I would never go buy vendors prices/specs on phones that haven’t been announced yet. They are almost always wrong.

Probably a higher spec’d/ more luxurious version of the Umi Hammer concept. I liked the Umi Hammer for its strength for that price, but I would wish a better version of it and I hope this will be it.

I live in Thailand and buy all my devices from three vendors 1949deal, Merimobiles and Pandawill. Never had any problems with any of them and 1949deal ships from Singapore so even with their free shipping option I get my devices in less than a week.

This “iron” would be prefect with an overheating SD810 on it and I would use it to fix my shirt in the morning

We have all had those days when we get to work and realize we have a few wrinkles still, just whip out the Umi load up something processor heavy and you have a handheld solution to get those wrinkles out and start camp fires if your stranded in the wild.
