Meizu PRO 5 appears on Geekbench, trumps the Galaxy Note5!

The Meizu PRO 5 (or a variant thereof) is all set to join the likes of the mighty Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, etc with its Exynos 7420 processor.

Naturally, we’re pretty darn excited for this one, especially after Meizu impressed (fairly) with the MX5. Meizu announced finally that the new line of premium phones that it had been working on was to be addressed as the PRO line; the first of which is set to be the PRO 5 later this month.

The phone’s already suffered a tonne of leaks, but it looks like there’s still some way to go before they stop. Today, the Meizu PRO 5 was spotted on Geekbench, pushing around the best phones on the benchmark listings. If you’ve been saving up to be able to purchase this new Meizu, you should probably celebrate because it turns out that the PRO 5 kicks ass. It trumps even the Samsung-made Galaxy Note5 with 1550/5593 points on single- and multi-core tests on Geekbench, while the Note5 manages 1508 and 5417 points respectively.

Gizchina News of the week

Quite clearly, the PRO 5 (codename NUIX) will have more than just a bit of processing prowess!

What we know so far about the PRO 5/NUIX:

  • Full metal body
  • 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p FHD screen
  • 21 mega-pixel rear camera
  • 5 mega-pixel front facing camera
  • Exynos 7420 processor
  • 3/4GB RAM
  • 2.5D curved glass on top
  • 3600mAh battery

Rumours have indicated at a price tag of around 3000 Yuan, which is starting to look more and more justified after every leak. What’s your take?

This is cheap for the hardware that you will be getting inside this device. Youre just cheap, go buy a Note 5 with the same hardware for 700USD then. Or buy a Ulephone or whatever other brands sell cheap stuff lol

Hey … whatever is biting you, you should keep to yourself. Everyone in here has every right to air their opinion no matter how it might sound in any other person’s ears.

You wanna make it your business, you can kiss my ass. You are one of those people who cant swallow other people’s opinions when they aint going down well with you.

The performance looks promising, and the price is indeed excellent for such a proudct (it will eat into Samsung note market) but what about the software Flyme, would it be able to support the hardware and vice versa?
Also people have got used to getting value for money phones from companies like Xiaomi that people might wait for phones from rivals at much cheaper price. Though the specs are good but guess the big market would open if the price is around 2499 Yuan

If they are smart they will give it a sdcard slot and removable battery to really put the joke on Samsung!

I arrived in China at the start of the month to begin a year of study. I had been using a Mi2S for about 2 years now but the battery wasn’t holding it’s charge and finding authentic replacement batteries was a pain. Picked up an M2 Note and have been really blown away by what Meizu did at that price point. Even at 3000 yuan, I could be really tempted by this. Always liked the look of Meizu’s devices, and having now had a good experience using one, I could see my way to throwing a bit more money at them.

Shut up and Take my money, i dont care if this costs 700USD, im getting it as soon as its lands on Geekbuying, Gearbest or Gizchina shop as they are the only online chinese retailers i trust. In a love affair with my MX4 Pro, i have no idea why peopel say its glitchy, had mine for almost a year now and haven’t had any hiccups at all, and im a power user. Only issue Ive seen thus far is where about 3 games wouldn’t work well and one was one of my favorites “Giant Boulder of Death” but meh i love flyme too much to let me care about that, its so damn beautiful to look at. Nobody complain and just bu what works for you, i like the solid quality and top of the line parts they use so imma pay that premium gladly plus these people work hard making these beautiful devices for shit money and we still cry.
