The Oukitel K4000, the phone that you can also use as a hammer, has officially been released online today with pre-sale prices starting from only $119.99.

Oukitel are using the pre-sale method to kick off sales of the K4000 today, in conjunction with an early discounted price. From today (22nd September) the large battery, tough phone can be bought for $119.99. The offer will continue for 4 weeks after which the price will rise to $139.99.

Oukitel are hoping to attract customers wanting a phone with all day battery life, and durability in mind without resorting to a traditional rugged smartphone. Specs for the K4000 have been hand-picked to ensure the longest possible battery life and include a 1.0Ghz quad-core MT6735P processor, 2B RAM, and 5-inch 720p display all running off a 4000mAh battery.

Camera are a 13 mega-pixel rear, and interpolated 5 mega-pixel front, and there is 16GB storage plus room for a 32GB card too.

One of the major selling points is the laminated glass display which proved its worth nailing a hand full of solid iron nails in to a piece of wood without even a scratch. If you missed that then check out the video below!

In addition to that proven durability, the Oukitel K4000’s 4000mAh battery is claimed to give 5 days of normal use, 2.5 days of heavy use on a single charge.

Full specification details of the phone can be found over on the official Oukitel website here.

I would wait for a full review before comparing them both, it’s not just about battery or durability, it’s about software, camera and even sound quality

M2 Note, except the nails bit, that wouldn’t go so well.

You can never be too careful. Plus, you’ll want your K4000 in perfect shape when hammer time comes around.
