Gionee Elife S6 leaks yet again in two configuration sets

A little more than a fortnight back, pictures of an upcoming Gionee phone, believed to be the Elife S6 appeared online along with some info about the specs. The phone looked rather bland back then, not only in design but also with specs.

Another Elife S6 leak popped up earlier today. Thankfully though, this leak shows the Elife S6 with a much better design and specs as compared to the previous leak.

According to what we heard today, the Elife S6 will have a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p Super AMOLED display and will be powered by the MediaTek MT6753 (as opposed to the MT6735 on the previous leaks). There’s also a marked difference in design, with today’s leak looking much better.

It also looks like there will be a gold version of the phone (at least), along with one or two other colour variants. The design does have a bit of iPhone in it, but I believe we’ve all grown so used to it that we don’t even notice it anymore.

Two variants of the phone are expected: 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB (RAM/ROM) with a price tag of a rather steep 1799 Yuan ($282). Here’s hoping that is the price tag of the 3GB RAM version…

What stays common between the previous leak and this is the launch date: 16th November is when the phone will see an official launch.

As the resident Gionee fanboy, I hate this (but most likely will end up owning one). I dont usually mind clone phones if they are done right. But I despise when Gionee does it. What used to set Gionee apart is they had some of the best looking devices in the industry and they were always different than the industry trends. They never needed to go down the clone route. Either they are getting lazy or they lost some of their key designers.
