    Be careful. This phone uses SIM slot 2 for the Micro SD slot and Elephone don’t make it clear on their website and promo video, however the video clearly shows so.

    Do keep it in mind if you’re like me and needs both slots. Canceled my order already.

        I don’t and that’s the problem. Not like I need 4GB of RAM though so I can just buy a Redmi Note 2 if I have to.

        I’ll try waiting to see if any other companies will correct this stupidity, my old phone still serves me well in the meantime.

      I don’t think they ever said it would accept 2 SIM and an SD. Their wording is the same as every other phone makers.

      Most phones that have dual sim and Micro SD have this set up. The second sim is the SD slot. Back in the day you would have two dedicated Sim Slots and an SD Card, I don’t know of too many phones that still do that.

          Most phones today are switching to a unibody metal design that uses a sim tray, like the Redmi Note 3 has. The Note 2 was based on the older polycarbonate removable back.

We can sleep easy at night knowing we’re not contributing to a scamming manufacturer like elephone. Besides, there are much better phones out there for less money.

              Well thanks for sharing your ignorance with the rest of us. As for all manufacturers having negative experiences that is quite true, however Elephone tend to have a lot more negative than positive, care to check the web and the forums here and you will see. Lastly, if you are serious about buying Chinese phones then even the simplest minded person should frequent sites like this and a little web research before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Either way, if they can’t be bothered to scroll through hundreds of pages of Elephone complaints and still not get the message, they deserve to learn the hard way.

      I’ve been thinking about tht a lot. I need to get a phone to complete some coursework soon — I am working on the courseware now, and it has several sections on android development .. and me without a good target to develop and test for.

      I want a phone that is <$350 .. and hopefully less than that. Above that price range, you can occasionally find deals on flagship phones (or refurbished ones) .. and that stuff is basically too rich for my blood.

      I need a phone that I can develop for and test with .. both regular apps and games.

      I love photography and do a lot of image manipulation. I have works in online galleries, and have had shows. My last job was as a web designer and developer… although most of my experience has been in development and system administration. I went into a lot of detail about camera stuff recently… I can share it.

      Fast charging is important to me too, but there is lots of tech that I can appreciate but don't really need (I like tech like wireless charging, but .. who cares).

      I actually made a detailed listing of such thoughts just a week ago. I can share it with you:

      SoC
      * ☆☆☆☆ single core perf – basically P10 or better
      * ☆☆☆ multi-core perf – basically P10 or better
      * ☆☆ graphics perf – this could be as powerful as an 820. until there's a specific game I care about though, it isn't worth all that much to me.
      * ☆☆☆☆ lots of ram – 3gb+
      * ☆☆☆ storage – either 32gb+, or sd card support. pref. both

      Screen
      * ☆☆☆☆ resolution – I consider 1080p both the least and most that I want, but if it was higher I'd be okay with it.
      * ☆☆☆ OLED – LCDs need to be proportionally brighter to be as visisble in brigh confditions, and suffer angle color-shifts even if they are still totally visible at wide agle.
      * ☆☆☆☆☆ – outdoor brightness – the ability to get bright is a definite plus. alternatively a second e-ink display would be just as good, but that is very rare.
      * ☆☆☆ accuracy – I'm an artist. so I care more than .. maybe more than I should
      * ☆☆ bezel – I am a less-is-more kind of person.
      * ☆☆☆☆ thin front pane – What I am mostly interested in though is the lack of apparent depth from the bezel's plane to the plane of the screen's image. OGS and LTPS are example tech to look for
      * ☆☆ 120fps – the new x20s will support 120fps. A screen to match would be pretty awesome.

      Cameras
      * ☆☆☆ pixel count
      * ☆☆☆☆ image fidelity – this is the other end of the spectrum from MP count … it isn't the most important thing though
      * ☆☆☆☆ speed of focus/shots
      * ☆☆☆☆☆ phase autofocus – or equivalent
      * ☆☆☆ speed and duration of image burst mode
      * ☆☆☆☆ full controls
      * ☆☆ slow motion video
      * ☆☆☆ 1080p60 video
      * ☆ 4k video
      * ☆☆☆☆ accuracy and smoothness of auto controls for video
      * ☆☆☆ DOF/3d scanning – as in phones using the x20
      * ☆☆☆☆ front camera – 5mp is a minimum. 8mp is significantly better. Higher would even be awesome.

      Accessories
      * ☆☆☆☆ US 4G bands
      * ☆☆☆☆ wifi ac
      * ☆☆ nfc – would be nice
      * ☆ wireless charging
      * ☆☆☆ quick charging – would be nice
      * ☆☆ fingerprint sensor – a not-so-good one is basically worthless to me. a good one is kinda nice.
      * ☆☆☆☆ water resistance – full on active versions are nice. a case that could let me take it in the shower would work just as well.
      * ☆☆☆☆ removable battery – I'm a believer.
      * ☆☆☆☆ large battery
      * ☆☆☆☆ marshmallow – having the latest android on it means it will likely have newer parts and higher build quality.
      * ☆☆☆ grippiness – I don't want to be dropping the thing

    The U.S. version isn’t supposed to be out until April. I’m in for $5 on the chance to buy one but by April there will be other choices so I’m likely out the $5 bucks.

      If Elephone says it’s due in April you can expect it in October.

      I think you are being too optimistic, my friend. When they say April, I would rather go with April of next year. 😀

      To buy it at the reduced price I have to do so by mid-feb, I think. Then wait a minimum of two months which could turn into 6 months or more. No. Not going to do that.

      Elephone should send me a phone, if it’s good. I can do more for their publicity in a month than their entire marketing team can do in a year.

    it still says:
    “WCDMA: 1/2/4/5
    FDD-LTE: 1/2/4/7/17
    TDD-LTE: 38/40”

    this alone would keep it out of the US market. maybe they are afterall looking to bring a P9000 Edge variant, like the one that they demoed about a month earlier? That was supposed to be either an X20 or even a snapdragon 820, if I remember correctly, and cost about $100 or so more

    Does anyone know of a good forum to ask about what chinese phone to get?
    The forum here seems kind of dead.

    It seems kind of messy to ask in comments here, not really suited to such long discussion :$

    I was going to get a P9000 lite as i paid for a $5 voucher but i think i will get a refund now.

    It emerges that the specs don’t have a gyro sensor for the lite version and also it is $20 more than they had mentioned it would be “around”.

    Or should i just ask in the comments here?

    I know i am the minority and i know i am going against a lot of Elephone haters. But i have replaced my LG G3 with the Elephone M2 and have never looked back. The M2 is thinner, faster, and smoother then the LG G3. I’ve only had the M2 for about 2 months now i think but no issues “knock on wood” i am either really lucky or the devil isn’t as bad as everyone says…..BTW i had a question to ask them and i used the included Ele support app and received a reply within the hour! I really couldn’t be happier.

      Yeah, and if you have any bugs with the OS of your Elephone, don’t expect any Updates! You need to fix it yourself! I had an ECOO E04 Plus for almost 8 months (ECOO belongs to Elephone) and it’s a nightmare!

      Until today, there is NO ROM that plays good with that phone! I changed almost 5 ROMs and it still plays like shit! ECOO promised Lollipop and they gave away only a Beta ROM that has many bugs! KitKat version also has many bugs! Elephone doesn’t care fixing the phones’ problems and they keep selling 2 new models every month!! I will NEVER buy an Elephone/ECOO again…
