If you read our Fresh Goods Friday feature last week you will have seen the Cubot Note S. Here is the unboxing of that new budget smartphone.

Cubot make a whole host of midrange phones and recently teamed with with Cheetah mobile to produce an all metal smartphone to go on sale in Europe.

Cubot aren’t ignoring the other end of the scale though, and have created their very own budget smartphone called the Cubot Note S.

This 5.5-inch phone comes with a HD 1280 x 720 display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and runs Mediatek budget quad-core MT6580 chipset. This means not LTE, but the phone will work on 3G networks.

One of the standout features of the phone is the huge battery. At 4150mAh it is one of the latest removable smartphone batteries that we have seen in a long time. It’s also interesting to see a budget phone with HotKnot too.

Pricing for the Cubot Note S is around $80 and the phone is available through numerous online resellers with shipping around the world now.

Not a bad phone if you are looking for a cheap phablet, at least Cubot provide better build quality than most cheap brands.
