Xiaomi have released a new wearable aimed at children featuring GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth and cellular connectivity.
In this day and age its a good idea to keep tabs on your kids while they are are out and about. For older kids you could give them one of the many sub $100 smartphones on offer, but for the little ones the Xiaomi Mi Bunny might be a better option.
The idea of the wearable is for kids to be able to keep in touch with family members, and family member keep tabs on where their young ones might be. Technology in the watch includes GPS, Glonass, WIFI, Bluetooth and call support. The watch can be programmed with up to 6 family members contact details for simple one touch calling, there’s an SOS button, and a ‘security zone’ feature that will alert a parent if the child walks to far.
The $50 wearable uses a prepaid SIM so parents needn’t worry about large phone bills and the built-in 300mAh battery is apparently good for 6 days of use.
Adults who are feeling left out can look forward to the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 due for release this year with pulse monitor, screen and possible GPS connectivity.
