Third party CM13 OS for Vernee Thor on the way?

After Vernee announcement about the Thor kernel source code release apparently many ROM developers tried to contact the company about the possible cooperation in ROM development. Once again kudos to Vernee for trying to go the extra mile for their customers and in our eyes that’s exactly the way to go and hopefully more chinese producers will realize that.

Gizchina News of the week

Among the most interesting proposals is definitely standing out an overseas Cyanogen development team offering to port CM 13 OS (based on Android 6.0) to Vernee Thor and take care of the future updates. According to our information Vernee is currently discussing this and taking it very seriously so the Cyanogen fans can slowly start to cheer. Vernee expects that more third-party developers are going to join the project in order to bring the best experience to the customer base. For more info click here.

Aside that it looks like that the second official software update for Vernee Thor is almost ready and will be released via OTA soon.

Camera on the Thor is about average. Not great but not terrible, colors tend to look a bit over-saturated in some pics and completely washed out in others. But for $120 phone it is acceptable.

I have been thinking of getting this for someone and I hear that you have one. If I can get it for $99 do you think I should get it?

So far yes but one thing to keep in mind if you live in the US it’s limited to just 3G.

Nope I left FB years ago.

Funny story about FB though, when I first signed up for FB it was at a time when the only way you could join was with a college email address and it was limited to a handful of schools. The very very early days when it looked completely different and Myspace was still popular. I was a junior in college to date myself a little bit. My account is still active so I can see pics of my nieces/nephews but I haven’t updated or posted in anything in probably 5 years.

Got any examples of the washed out images? I’ve seen it mentioned in a review, but having taken several hundred pics so far I’ve not had one I’d describe as such. Wonder if there’s some sample issues. Some images can look over saturated on screen, especially with Miravision enabled, but the actual pics when viewed on PC are much less vibrant and true to life.

Already asked if they plan to release “N”-updates in the future for Apollo, they didn’t denied it, didn’t confirm it… But if they would release the source then someone would port it… I keep the hopes high for this Company.

I know the group of devs behind of this project, they are supporting Jiayu S3 since last year, stable 5.1.1 and CM13 on development, great from Vernee to reach the good guys and also all the care with a important part that some other OEMs neglect, the software.

I thought Mediatek forbid their buyers to reveal the source code ?
Like Mediatek worried their soc secret will be reveal to public or something LOL.

Because as you can see all other vendors that make smartphone with mediatek soc inside never release the source code.

I like cyanogen as normally their firmware are blazing fast, but problem with cyanogen is the camera sometime not as good as the vendor own firmwares.
