Nubia Z11 to use next gen borderless tech and uber slim design

Nubia are set to launch a new flagship phone with an improved border-less design technology for better viewing and a thinner phone design.

Nubia have already dabbled with border-less phones with the launch of the flagship Z9 last year and rumours have circulated that the upcoming Z11 flagship might offer the same design.

However, while the Z11 might have a similar zero bezel design, the technology behind the implementation is said to be all new. Apparently a ‘breakthrough’ has seen Nubia optimise the front panel of the Z11 for improved visual performance while also enabling the overall thickness of the phone to decrease.

Gizchina News of the week

We’re not sure how thin the Z11 will be but if the image above is anything to go by the Nubia Z11 could be below 5mm thick!

According to previous leaks the Nubia Z11 is expected to come with a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 16 mega-pixel rear camera, fingerprint scanner and 5.5-inch display. With a body as thin as the one’s shown in the leak though we worry what the battery size is going to be like.

Nubia will officially launch the Z11 at an event in China on June 28th.

I wish they had gone for this design on the Z11 max as I’m seriously considering it and selling my existing phone to a friend. Decisions…

…. and a thickness of 7.75mm, or so I read elsewhere.

      Z11 Max 159.2mm x 82.3mm x 7.4 mm
      Z9 Max 154.8mm x 76.6mm x 7.9 mm
      Z11 151.8mm x 72.3mm x 7.75mm
      Z9 147.4mm x 68.3mm x 8.9 mm

looks to be inbetween the sizes of the Z9 and Z9 Max. I’m looking forward to seeing this next week – I’m expecting the price to be uncompetitively high though (like the Z9 was last year – twice the price of the almost identically specced Z9 Max and lacking SD support)..

Looks nice, but probably no B20 support. According to their site, not even the Z11 mini international has B20 support.

      I hope they’ll add it.
