OPPO announces the F1s, wants you to take even more selfies

More people were killed while taking selfies than by shark attacks last year, but hey, we’re the internet generation and selfies are an integral part of our lives. If you agree with the previous statement, chances of you being in the target audience of OPPO’s new phone are exceptionally high.

Known as the OPPO F1s, the phone is designed with selfies in mind. It’ll come with camera tech that’ll build on that of the OPPO F1. In OPPO’s words, the F1s will continue the “legacy of superb photography, sleek design and snappy performance (of the F1), while adding new features and taking others to new heights.”

Gizchina News of the week

OPPO did not provide any details about the F1s, but revealed that the phone will hit the market next month, i.e., in August. While a large part of the online junta felt that the OPPO F1 was overpriced for what it was, the phone seems to have done quite well in the offline market.

OPPO divulged that the F1 sat at the #1 position in the $225-$300 price range in multiple markets including India, Indonesia and Vietnam for May. The phone occupied the second spot in the category in Thailand and Malaysia.

Let’s wait a few more weeks to find out if the F1s is going to get any love from us.

Note to Oppo: Enough with these gimmick cameras with meager specs. Your longtime fans want a new Find 9. Make it happen.
