Cubot join the Pokemon Go fad with a contest; offer wearables, cash prizes

After UMi, Cubot are the latest Chinese phone company to jump in on the Pokemon Go fad that has taken over the world.

Cubot have gone a step ahead and are offering their V1 Bands and cash as prizes to winners. For that, they ask you to shoot and send a video of you catching (I’m hoping that’s the right term) a Pokemon on your Cubot Dinosaur phone.

Worth noting is that you need to have a Cubot Dinosaur to be able to participate in this contest. Cubot seem to have quite a budget for winners; take a look below for all that’s up for grabs.

Gizchina News of the week

Winners will be decided on an FCFS (First Come First Serve) basis, so you’ll have to be quick. The contest will run until the 31st of August. The first, second and third prizes are cash amounts of 1000 Euros (1 winner), 500 Euros (2 winners) and 100 Euros (10 winners) respectively, while 20 winners for the fourth prize will take home the Cubot V1 wearable.

It’s quite amusing how brands, regardless of their size, have tried to take advantage of the Pokemon Go situation. I’m not really the kind that usually falls for things like this, but there’s a Pokemon Go installation on my phone as well…
