UMI Diamond is not afraid of the tough street life

UMI Diamond is the latest addition to the UMI phone family and it plans to captivate the audience not just with flashy design, but also with its toughness. Most of it comes thanks to the display covered with a Dual T2X-1 protective glass, which makes it pretty scratch resistant.

But the rest of the materials are contributing too and with strong metal frame and a resistant polycarbonate back the Diamond is even not afraid being dropped. And of course UMI want to prove the point so they have released a video where the Diamond is being dropped on the pavement from 1,2 and 1,5 m height.

Such tests are meant to simulate the real cases when phone just slips out of your hand during a phone call or just falls off your pocket or a bag. As the video demonstrates such fall even directly on the display is not fatal at all and the phone survived without any real damage. See for yourself in the video.

It seems that the Diamond X will be just a cheaper and weaker version of this one.

This giveaway is a joke. The most clever (positive) comment about the phone, will win! I guess that a UMi spam commenter, will be the winner… =P
