First generation of Huawei Watch was released in 2015. Today, at MWC 2017, company shows us 2nd generation of it’s smart watch. Huawei Watch 2 will be available in 2 versions and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
Huawei Watch 2 – new design and functions
Today Huawei oficially unveiled Huawei Watch 2, which will be available in 2 versions – Watch 2 and Watch 2 Classic. Comparing to 1st gen, we can notice visual changes and (depending on version) function changes – Huawei Watch 2 has SIM card slot and supports 4G LTE connection, so we can use it without having smartphone nearby.
Huawei Watch 2 has more sportier look than 1st generation of watches. It has 45mm case and silicon straps. What is interesting, this model also has SIM card slot, so if you will go running, there will be no need to cary phone with you.
Ok, so we have sport version. What about stylish one? For people who want to have watch with more business design, company offers Huawei Watch 2 Classic. It also has 45 mm case, but there are leather straps, so it looks more professional. Unfortunately, this version doesn’t support 4G LTE (lack of card slot), but thanks to it battery life is a bit longer.
Huawei Watch 2 specification
Excluding SIM card slot, both of the watches have the same specifciation. There is 1.2-inch display with 390x390px resolution in 45mm case. Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 is the heart of the devices, and works under control of Android Wear 2.0 (Huawei is the first Chinese manufacturer, that offers Android Wear 2.0 devices). There is also 2GB of internal memory, which is more than enough for applications, but can be not enough for people, who would like to have own music on the watch.
There are also common features, like Bluetoot and NFC connectivity, GPS location services, heart rate monitor and water resistant (IP68). Everything is powered by 420 mAh battery, that allows 2 or 3 days of work (depending on version – Watch 2 or Watch 2 Classic).
Watch should be availabe since March in countries like Germany, Portugal, Spain, France, China and Italy. Since April there should UK and US join to countries, where Huawei Watch 2 will be available. It’s pricing will start at about $340.
Huawei Watch 2 Porsche
Huawei isn’t finishing cooperation with Porsche (which helped to create Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Edition). There will be also Huawei Watch 2 made with cooperation of these 2 companies. Unfortunately there are no information about the specification of the watch, but there is one image, that shows how it may looks like.
