ZTE’s budget Quartz smartwatch looks pretty decked for the money

As rumoured, ZTE today announced the ZTE Quartz smartwatch. The smartwatch market has been a bit stagnant, but the Quartz brings a new angle — price war.

The ZTE Quartz costs under $200, but the spec sheet on the device gives some smartwatches that are a lot more expensive a run for their money.

Have a look at what I’m talking right below:

For $192, the ZTE Quartz smartwatch will be available via T-Mobile in the US. It features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 400 x 400p resolution, with the dial covered with Gorilla Glass. In addition, you will be able to make calls and send texts right from the smartwatch, without any dependency on a smartphone.

Gizchina News of the week

It runs on the new Snapdragon 2100 platform, and is powered by a above standard capacity 500mAh battery. The Quartz does look like a great package, but the only caveat is that it’s tied to T-Mobile.
