Freshly born phone manufacturer Gretel have recently launched the Gretel A6, a device that costs about $90 but still features interesting specs and a good looking design. For that reason the Chinese company likes to compare it against the very successful Xiaomi Redmi 4X. Let’s see how the two compare!
Beginning with the obvious difference between the two devices — screen size. While the Xiaomi Redmi 4X packs a smaller 5.0-inch display, the Gretel A6 comes with a bigger 5.5-inch HD IPS screen. Specs wise, the Gretel A6 is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 vs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 CPU equipped on the Redmi 4X.
Both phones feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable through microSD and dual SIM support with the hybrid slot, that means you have to choose between a second SIM or the microSD card. As far as battery goes, the Gretel A6 comes with a 3000mAh battery, whereas the Redmi 4X packs a bigger 4100mAh capacity battery.
Design wise, they are both very good looking for the price segment they’re in. The Gretel A6 shines for its premium aluminum body with a 2.5D curved glass on the front. The front-facing touch buttons are also backlighted, so they’re easier to find in the dark. On the back we have a fast fingerprint scanner on both devices.
The Gretel A6 is available in two colors: Black and Gold; meanwhile the Xiaomi Redmi 4X is available in Pink, Gold and Black. The only difference between the two Gold models is the glossy brushed finish on the aluminum back cover of the Gretel A6.
