Well according to the Chinese company yes, they have and Huawei India Director for Product Centre Allen Wang, confirmed it officially today.
I guess most of you know about the company’s efforts year by year to top Samsung and Apple as the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer and perhaps the latest figures are a first sign that this can indeed happen at some time in the near future. However, since sales numbers on a monthly basis are hard to accurately calculate, Huawei’s claims may not be completely up to date.
Allen Wang however confirmed that Huawei’s global share reached 13,2% last December with more than 139 million phones shipped during 2016, with Apple reaching a mere 12% for the same period of time (December 2016). Huawei’s representative also mentioned that his company managed to surpass Samsung (currently No.1 in world sales volumes) in certain markets, although he didn’t elaborate.
