The Huawei Honor 9 was launched yesterday in China with some beefy specs. The phone will be going on sale via Jingdong, Vmall, Lynx, Dining and on Amazon.cn. The registrations for the sale have started and Jingdong has already reached close to 400,000 registrations. At the time of writing this post, the registrations were at 385,578.
The Huawei Honor sports a 5.15 inch 1080p display, with DCI-P3 color space. It is powered by the octa core Kirin 960 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. There is also a variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The Honor 9 features a dual camera setup of 12MP and 20MP sensors with 2x optical zoom on the rear and an 8MP snapper on the front. The battery on this one is a 3100mAh unit with support for fast charging.
The figures that we have currently are only for Jingdong. There might be as many or even more on the other retail websites. This might easily get the total count of registrations up to a million. The Honor 9 is available in 4 color variants, Sea Blue, Amber Gold, Black and Seagull Grey. The 6GB+64GB variant is priced at 2299 Yuan($338) and the 6GB+128GB variant is priced at 2999 Yuan($441).
