Xiaomi Mi 5X official images leak before launch

Xiaomi has already confirmed that both Xiaomi Mi 5X and MIUI 9 will be unveiled on July 26 but we didn’t have any… official proof of its existence, that is… until today. A set of official press images of the Xiaomi Mi 5X leaked and surely the upcoming model looks interesting.

As you can see from the images in this post, it retains a Mi 6 relevant design, with the same dual camera placement on its back but it uses a different build material than the Chinese flagship, metal instead of glass. The back side of the phone looks really clean, with the dual camera setup placed on the top left side of the device, along with a fingerprint reader positioned just below and the Mi logo. The power button and the volume rockers are on the right side & the SIM card tray is on the left.

Gizchina News of the week

We have already told you about the possible specs of the Xiaomi Mi5X but here’s another short update on them. The device should be equipped with a Snapdragon 625 SoC, a 5,5 inch full HD display, dual cameras (OV12A10 OmniVision + OV13880 OmniVision sensors) and a selfie camera with a S5K5E8 sensor.

It seems that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5X is going to be priced at 1999 Yuan or approx $295 which is surely a great pricing. What are your views? Do let us know via the comments section.

A great pricing for what ? A phone that is less powerful than my 1 year old Redmi Note 4 ( with Helio X20 ) for which I paid $150 ?
I know the SOC is not the only important aspect of a phone but come on , it’s like building a nice SUV care an putting a 65 HP engine in it while your old car has 85 HP. Great build quality and all that but would you buy it ?

      haha !

where’d you get the deal for $150 , that is seriously a killer deal !

i wish we could have that sort of pricing and deals in Pakistan !

enjoyed the SUV analogy tho and fully agree … i’m starting to tire of the stupid SD 625 !

      SD 660 FTW !

I saw prices like that for the X20 version on AliExpress quite a while ago.

Did they sorted out the standby battery drain? It’s all because the X20 and that’s why MTK is having hard time these days. You said X20 is more powerful than the SD625 and while this is right when it comes to Antutu, but in actual gaming sessions the Adreno 506 is on par with the Mali T880 MP4, the fps is the same.

Yes I get it , I realize that the SD 625 some advantages like battery life and GPU but still for me it’s a very weak SOC and a downgrade. Btw I don’t ever play games on my phone so the GPU is not important to me and for CPU the X20 wipes the floor with the SD 625.
I do see your points though and it’s nice to actually have reasonable people to debate with. The thing is I do accept the SD 625 as an option for the sub $200 phone market. Yes, Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Note 4X are something to compare … once you jump past $200 though I expect X25 better yet the SD660 which is just awesome. Instead we just get the SD 625 which is just like I said , sticking a 65 HP engine in a nice new SUV, just doesn’t cut it.

Too expensive, but it was expected since Xiaomi is investing in marketing now. Prices will only go up

This device shouldn’t cost more than $220. It should cost less than Mi max 2, otherwise it will be an epic fail.

This price for a Mix with Helio X30 processor is our demand. We will import it to India from China but we surely want a Mix with x30 at $299 from Xiaomi a good selfie camera as well with flash.
