Xiaomi Redmi 5 To Sport a 5.7-inch Display


From speculations, Xiaomi is prepared to release four smartphones in the last quarter of 2017. Sometime last month, the  Xiaomi Redmi 5A and with the current trend in the market, a manufacturer needs a full-screen smartphone coupled with other great features in order to make an impact in the market. Earlier, an image of a white coloured Redmi 5 surfaced online and now, speculations suggest that this smartphone will sport a 5.7-inch display.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM.  This smartphone is equipped with a 5.7-inch display, 18:9 aspect ratio, with 1440 × 720 pixels display resolution. In the camera department, Redmi 5 is expected to sport a 6MP + 8MP camera setup.

Presently, two models of this smartphone (MDE1 and MDT1) has been approved by TENAA and these have a full network function and support 5V / 2A charge output. As for its pricing, the 3GB RAM + 16GB ROM variant of the Redmi 5 will sell for 799 Yuan ($121) while its GB RAM + 32GB ROM counterpart goes for 899 Yuan ($136).

    damn… I was waiting for the redmi 5… but 5.7 is a no go for me, even with such thin bezzels. I already own an tablet and don’t need another one.

    I hoped for an 5 inch in the typical form factor of older 4.5 inch phones…

    Personally I don’t believe this leak, what would be the point of a 5.7 inch phone following on from the Redmi 4X? My girlfriend finds big screen phones in the “Note” size range to fiddley to use with her small hands, plenty of other people have the same view, would be plain daft to launch a 5.7inch model as a follow up.
