A few weeks ago, a gaming company, Razer, launched its first smartphone – Razer Phone. Since then a few reviews have popped online and they showed that the minor issues with the Razer Phone are software related. Although the Razer Phone camera is not that bad, Razer’s CEO Min-Liang Tan has said that the company will soon release an update via Play Store which will enhance the performance of the camera app. Subsequently, other optimizations such as the shutter speed and low-light performance will be released.
As part of the upcoming update, Razer will enhance zoom performance by adding a new Instazoom button for easy access to the to the telephoto lens. Also, the company will “very likely” add 4X slow-motion video recording. Towards the end of Q1 2018, the Razer Phone will receive features like portrait mode, 60fps video recording, and more general speed improvements and these will come with the Android Oreo Update. According to Min-Liang Tan, these added features was widely requested by many reviewers. Razer is very young in the smartphone business, but the company has a good start in this line by releasing a good smartphone and it is now listening to feedback from customers, reviewers, and fans alike.
