The Xiaomi Mi A1 has received a permanent price cut of Rs.1000, this bringing its price down to Rs.13,999 from Rs.14,999. The Mi A1 is Xiaomi’s foray into the Android One program by Google. The Rose Gold variant of the Mi A1 was recently released for sale, following which the price cut has been announced by Xiaomi India on Twitter.

On the spec front, the Mi A1 features a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It is powered by the octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. The phone features a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a 12MP wide-angle and a 12MP telephoto lens coupled with an LED flash and 2x optical zoom. The front facing camera is a 5MP sensor. The phone is fueled by a 3080mAh battery and runs Android Nougat.

The A1 is basically the Mi 5X, with the only difference being that the Mi A1 is a part of the Android One program, thus enabling a pure Android experience along with priority updates for 2 years. It is currently receiving the December security patch and is expected to receive Oreo soon.
