We have to praise HMD Global for fulfilling their promises of keeping their Nokia smartphones updated and rocking. The company is one among the few which are already making Oreo stable builds for their handsets, last month Oreo rolled out for the flagship Nokia 8, today another handset from the Nokia’s line got the taste of newest Google’s cookie, the Nokia 5.
The update comes in the beta form, according to the Company’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, the next handset to taste the new update will be the Nokia 6, a curious update route since the Nokia 6 was the very first device released by the company and market the Nokia smartphone return.
Currently any user interested in getting the update for Nokia 5 will need to sign up for HMD’s Beta Labs program and enter the device details in the prompt. After you gets approved the handset will start to receive any beta update just after it gets available.
The Nokia 5 debuted earlier in February 2017 sitting at the mid-range class due to its specifications. The smartphone packed the Snapdragon 430 with 3GB RAM and 16GB of externally expandable storage. Moreover the handset featured a 13MP PDAF main rear camera and 8MP front-facing snapper.
When released the Nokia 5 came running Android 7.1.1 and since then the company promised to offer a major flavor Android update for all their handsets released during this year. The Nokia 5 is receiving Oreo today, Nokia 6 is the next, and lastly but not least we expect the Nokia 3 to receive the same treatment in the coming days.
