Xiaomi Redmi 5A will go up for sale in Indonesia for Rp 999.000


Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 5A in Indonesia for Rp 999.000, a few months later after its official launch in China. It was later launched in India after which it has now hit the Indonesian shore.

The Redmi 5A has been priced at Rp 999.000 which translates to approximately $74, a price tag that is lesser than the one it sells for in China, 599 Yuan, approximately $96. The sale starts on the 27th of December.

The Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood lies the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It is available in two memory variants, 2GB RAM+16GB ROM and 3GB RAM+32GB ROM, although only the 2GB variant will be available for sale in Indonesia. It features a 13MP primary snapper coupled with an LED flash whereas the front camera is a 5MP snapper.

Also on board is an IR blaster for controlling electronics that respond to IR remotes. The Redmi 5A is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android Nougat with MIUI 9 on top. It will be available for purchase in three color variants, Elegant Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold through Erajaya Retail Group as well as Xiaomi’s official online store.
