Sony sends out MWC 2018 invites

In about a month time, Barcelona will play host to a number of world’s leading mobile manufacturers in the 2018 edition of the annual Mobile World Congress. Although Sony at the CES 2018 has already announced a number of Xperia phones, the company is expected to reveal some more premium devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018. Now, reports from over the web suggest the Company has just sent out invites for its press conference at the event holding in Barcelona, Spain.

Sony’s MWC 2018 media briefing is scheduled for Monday 26 February 2018, with the actual keynote expected to commence at 8:30 CET (7:30 am GMT/2: 30 am EST).

Sadly, the media invite apart from the promises of more technological innovation doesn’t reveal anything about what the company has line up for this year MWC, but there are series of speculations. Last year’s MWC brought us the Sony Xperia XA1 and Xperia XZ Premium, so it won’t be out of place to see successors to these devices at the 2018 MWC.

To be specific, there are speculations that the Xperia XZ Pro – Sony’s first attempt at OLED displays coinciding with a switch to 18:9 aspect ratio may be unveiled at the event. The device is also rumored to feature a dual rear camera set up, the first in any Sony smartphones.More details about the Sony ZX Pro here.

Also expected is the Sony Xperia XZ2 which is expected to take over from the Xperia XZ1. It might also have a dual camera set up as well as full-screen design.
