A new update is being rolled out to the  Galaxy A8+ 2018 and the flagship galaxy S8/8+ few days after a similar update was made available to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The update with version number G9500ZCU2AQL2, G9550ZCU2AQL2 which brings the Android security patch for the month of January is being rolled out to Galaxy S8/S8+  users in China, while a similar update with version number A730FXXU1ARA6 is hitting the newly announced Galaxy A8+ (2018)  units in India.

Gizchina News of the week

Although the sizes of the current update can’t be ascertained at the moment, the security updates for these devices much like the updates for other Galaxy phones brings fixes for five critical Android vulnerabilities and fixes for 13 Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) in the company’s own software.

The updates are only currently rolling out to users of the flagship Galaxy S8/8+ in China, while same is rolling out to users of the Galaxy A8+ 2018 in India, we do hope to see the same update rolled out to other countries.

Just in case you are yet to get the update notification, we advise you check out whether the update is available for you yet manually via your phone setting. If not don’t worry as the updates may take a while before it gets to your device.
