LG G6 Android Oreo update will arrive in Europe only by the end of June

The LG G6 was certainly one of the most wronged handsets of the last year. The lack of appeal over the handset was one of the main reasons for the low sales suffered by LG.

Although the smartphone was the one debuting the 18:9 screen, it couldn’t keep on with the Snapdragon 835 flagships. Several months later, LG released the LG V30 which fixed most of the G6 flaws while brought more updated specs.
The LG V30 now is one of the lucky devices running the Android Oreo, in some parts of the world. The LG G6 in counterpart, still haven’t proved the latest Google’s Cookie. Back in October a unit of the handset running Android 8.0 beta was spotted, but it never found a way to the overall consumers. If you’re one of LG G6 owners and is wondering when the promised update will arrive, we can answer.
According to the LG Italian website, the LG G6 will receive the Android Oreo update in the first half of this year. Here goes the catch, the first half of 2018 will end in June. So in the more pessimistic scenario, the LG G6 Oreo update will arrive just five months ahead.
It’s really disappointing to see the South-Korean company taking so long to providing a major OS update to a flagship that isn’t even one year old. According to the LG Italy Twitter account, if everything goes fine, there is a chance of an April rollout. But don’t hold your breath waiting for it.
