KGI analyst estimates 100 million of 6.1-inch iPhones units to be shipped on 2018


The reliable KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was the one who revealed that Apple would launch three units of iPhones during 2018. Two models will come with OLED screens and will be a 5.8-inch model and another one with 6.5-inch. The cheapest model will bring a 6.1-inch LCD screen.

According to Mr.Kuo the 6.1-inch variant of 2018 iPhone could reach the mark of 100 million of shipments before the end of 2018, with a $700~$800 price tag. According to KGI predictions, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will come as the replacement of 2017’s iPhone 8 and will be the cheapest option. The 5.8 OLED iPhone will possibly be the 2018 successor of iPhone X, while the 6.5-inch OLED variant may be the plus version of iPhone X that many Apple enthusiasts have been waiting for.

Some reports indicate that the cheapest LCD iPhone will lack Face ID in favor of ol’good fingerprint sensor, and also will not bring the 3D touch in order to keep the price at a lower rate. However, other reports indicate that all three 2018 iPhone will arrive with 19:5:9 aspect ratio and will keep the controversial Face ID.
