Redmi 5 Plus start to receive MIUI 9.5 Global ROM at India

Last week, Xiaomi started the global rollout of MIUI 9.5 taking the Redmi Note 4X, Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Pro as the first lucky devices. The Global Stable MIUI 9.5 is an important and long-anticipated update since it finally brings notifications in MIUI in line with the standard debuted by Android Nougat. It introduces to MIUI the ability to one-finger to expand notifications, bundled notifications, and quick reply.

Now the company started to deliver the MIUI 9.5 update to the Redmi 5 Plus in India. Or more precisely, Redmi Note 5, since Xiaomi choose to use a different for the device in the country. If you’re weren’t confused enough, the company launched the Indian Redmi Note 5 Pro as Redmi Note 5 in China, well that’s another story.

The Indian Redmi Note 5 (5+) brings decent specifications at a very affordable value. For just a few the Indian consumers can grab the 5.99-inch FHD+ smartphone powered by Snapdragon 625 paired with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of Storage. The smartphone runs MIUI 9.0 out the box running atop Nougat 7.1.2. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t disclosed its plans for bringing an Android Oreo update to its phablet. The update can be flashed through stock Recovery or via the fastboot method. However, it is also expected to arrive for all Indian costumers through OTA channel in the coming days. I can say for experience from someone that also dealt with Stock Android, MIUI 9 notifications scheme is rather annoying and unpractical, but with MIUI 9.5 the experience got way improved and users can finally experience a detailed and smooth experience through checking notifications.
