Huawei’s P20 phones were a special addition to its flagship lineup this year. Specifically speaking, the one that has triple cameras, the P20 Pro is the cream of the billions of R&D Huawei has been pumping in for innovation.

It also earned praise from the highly acclaimed DxOmark which is the benchmarks for cameras along with the dual camera P20. In fact, the P20 Pro is top dog at DxOMark right now. For that reason, it isn’t a surprise to see the handset overselling its predecessor by a huge margin.

The P20 Pro has become the company’s best selling smartphone in Western Europe. Huawei has revealed that it sold 6 million units of the P20 and P20 Pro combined which is a rise of 81 percent over last year’s P10.

“The incredible reception and sales performance of the HUAWEI P20 Series demonstrate that we understand our markets, and show our commitment to innovation and R&D,” said Kevin Ho, President of the company’s Handsets Product Line.

The Chinese heavyweight has been shut out from US shores due to the government’s ongoing tussle with ZTE, hence Huawei has decided to shift focus to Europe. Huawei has now become the third in the list of world’s largest smartphone markers after Apple and Samsung. Other Chinese companies that are setting foot on foreign soil fast include Xiaomi and Oppo.
