Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 to be Priced at $569?

In the first few weeks of last month, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 made several appearances after which the trail went cold. It again appeared in a few leaks last in the last week of July. Today, an alleged Mix 3 listing pegs the price to be 3899 Yuan or $569. The listing also reveals a few details which put some perspective into place as far as the design of the Mix 3 is concerned.

First off, the display is expected to be made using the COP (Chip On PlasticĀ Substrate) process. This allows room for flexibility. The reason why this detail is important is that the Mix 3 is expected to completely lose all the bezels. A flexible display would allow Xiaomi to reduce the chin on the bottom. Apple used COF (Chip On Flex) technology to get rid of the chin on the iPhone X. COF leads to similar results. This would greatly reduce the chin size, thus allowing for a greater screen to body ratio.

The listing also claims that the phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It is expected to sport an in-display fingerprint scanner and a Samsung 2K AMOLED display. Expect an always-on display in tow. Wireless charging is also expected to be a part of the package. The front camera is expected to be a 20MP sensor.

An earlier report hinted at the presence of a dedicated AI button on the Mix 3. A few hands-on images confirmed a complete lack of bezels on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. If the images are to be believed, the camera is likely to be a pop-up unit like the Vivo Nex. These are mere speculations derived from past leaks and reports. There is nothing to guarantee the authenticity of the latest price listing either. I suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.

Get the price down to $300-400USD with US warranty and support and this could be the phone the kills Samsung and to a lesser extent Apple.
