HOMTOM Debuts in India with Three Budget Smartphones

HOMTOM just launched three new smartphones in India this last Friday, August 25th. The handsets are all priced in the sub-10,000Rs ($140) price range. More specifically we’re talking about the H1, H3 and H5 selling at Rs 7,490 ($105), Rs 9,990 ($140) and Rs 10,990 ($155) respectively.

So, let’s recap some of the specs from these devices for those reading for India interested in getting one of the above.

The first is the HOMTOM H1; the smartphone comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage with a 5.5-inch HD display on top, plus a 3,000mAh battery to fuel the entire thing.

Then we have the HOMTOM H3, touting a 5.5-inch HD+ In-Cell display and powered by a MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The battery here is a 3,500mAh capacity one.

Both the H1 and the H3 have dual 13+2MP cameras at the back and an 8MP front camera with face unlock.

Finally, the HOMTOM H5 is the most powerful among the three and sports a 5.7-inch HD+ In-Cell display along with a 16+2MP camera, a 3,300mAH fast-charging battery. It has dual SIM support and packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. All the phones run on Android 8.1.

HOMTOM plans to manufacture its future phones in India. They will be shelling out about Rs 200-300 crores (around $30mil and “40mil) for CKD manufacturing for which it will be setting up its own facility in Noida by mid-2019.
