Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro renders confirm rear design

Recent leaks have pointed to the presence of a triple camera setup in both Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. However, the latter would drop off the vertically-aligned setup of P20 family in favor of a squareish setup for the three cameras and the LED flash. We have assumed that the Mate 20 would eventually adopt the same design, but a pair of newly leaked renders are here to prove the contrary.

Rather than adopting the essence of its Mate 20 Pro, apparently, the Chinese firm will follow the footprints of Mate 10 Porsche Design. The Huawei Mate 20 will feature an elongated vertical layout on the rear. When it comes to the usual information that Huawei put to classify its cameras, we can spot once again the Leica branding just above the fingerprint sensor. The presence of this rear fingerprint scanner in both handsets also proves that this smartphone won’t debut with an under-glass scanner.

Gizchina News of the week

The camera department should be ensured by three cameras with 12MP, 20MP, and 8MP telephoto lens. We don’t know if the difference between the pair of flagships will be just visual, or if they will, in fact, differ in camera capabilities as well, for now, everything is based in rumors. On the topic of specifications, both smartphones should feature the latest Kirin 980 alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage, the Mate 20 Pro should also come with a variant of 8GB RAM and 256GB of Storage. The handsets will feature a large battery of 4,200mAh that will be optimized by the brand new Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 running atop.

Currently, we speculate that both handsets will arrive in the second half of October. So, we expect to see more leaks during the upcoming months.
