Nubia officially unveiled its Z18 flagship


Today, Nubia held a new product launch conference in Beijing, officially releasing the annual flagship Z18 smartphone.

As stated in the leaks, the phone comes with a water-drop style notch which looks much more elegant than the rectangular cutouts we’re used to seeing these days. The Nubia Z18 also continue the tradition of its predecessor and comes with a borderless design and a screen-to-body ratio higher than 90 percent.

At the opening of the conference, Ni Fei, the general manager of Nubia smartphones, first mentioned the configuration. It uses a 6-inch borderless display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and a screen aspect ratio of 18:9. The borderless screen take 91.8% of the front panel.

In addition, the Nubia Z18 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with up to 8GB LPDDR4X memory and a 128GB UFS 2.1 flash memory, 16MP + 24MP dual rear camera, battery capacity of 3450mAh. Under the support of NeoPower 3.0 smart power-saving technology, the power consumption is smarter and more reasonable.

The Nubia Z18 is equipped with DTS+D-BASS dual combination, the bass is more dynamic and the sound field is more stereo.

It is worth mentioning that the Nubia Z18 adopts the next generation mobile communication core technology, 4×4 MIMO multi-antenna, theoretically the data transmission rate can be increased by 100%, up to 640Mbps.

Price and availability

The Nubia Z18 will be available for purchase in China from next September 11, at a price of 2799 yuan (about 408$) for the basic version of 6/64GB and  3299 yuan (about 482$) for the 8/128GB version.

    Damn this does look better then the Mi8 I ordered that arrives this week. Although I did pay $100 less.

    Ugh. Rear fingerprintreader… no wireless charging by the looks of it.
    Does this have and IR blaster and F.I.T. (Frame Interactive Technology) like the Z9?
    I used to have the Z9 with those and that was that was awesome about it!

    Would be interesting to see where NeoVision is at today.
    When I went from the Z9 to the Huawei P10 Plus (being taken in by the Leica hype) it actually felt like a step backwards. The P20 Pro made up big time, but I’m kinda curious to find out where Nubia is at today with their NeoVision.
