Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, has announced that the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 (also called Redmi S2 outside India) will now be available in two new colours. At launch, this smartphone was available inĀ Gold, Rose Gold, and Dark Grey coloursĀ but now, the sales of theĀ Mesmerising Blue and Stunning Black versions have been opened. TheĀ 3GB RAM + 32GB storage base version will sell forĀ INR9,999 ($138) while the higherĀ 4GB/64GB version goes for INR12,999 ($180). This smartphone will be available on Mi.com and Amazon.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB. It uses a 5.99-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by a 3,080mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2, the company claims the device is itsĀ best Redmi device for selfies ever.Ā It comes fitted with a 16MP front shooter with 2Ī¼m pixel size, face unlock, LED flash,Ā AI portrait mode and an AI beauty mode. The AI algorithm according to Xiaomi does a great job at distinguishing subject and background, resulting in great selfies. Also, the AI beauty mode is capable of highlighting the right facial areas by detecting makeup. On the flip side, the Redmi S2 uses a 12MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25Ī¼m pixel size, PDAF and a secondary 5MP rear camera.
