Chrome OS successfully installed on the Chuwi LapBook SE

Chuwi LapBook SE

Chuwi LapBook SE is one of the best affordable chinese laptops out there and is already selling quite well for a while. Of course it’s fully based on the Windows 10 platform, but recently there emerged some fans trying to port the Chrome OS to it. Chuwi staff took a liking to the challenge and managed to adopt the Chrome OS to the laptop on their own successfully and documented it with photos.

If such a thing would intrest you, then the installation method and everything is available in here, but Chuwi themselves publicly said, they are not encouraging the behavior too much. So you will be on your own with a warranty and everything, but who knows, maybe it’s worth a shot.

Gizchina News of the week

This is Chromium OS, not Chrome OS. Quite a big difference.
