Chrome OS successfully installed on the Chuwi LapBook SE

Chuwi LapBook SE

Chuwi LapBook SE is one of the best affordable chinese laptops out there and is already selling quite well for a while. Of course it’s fully based on the Windows 10 platform, but recently there emerged some fans trying to port the Chrome OS to it. Chuwi staff took a liking to the challenge and managed to adopt the Chrome OS to the laptop on their own successfully and documented it with photos.

If such a thing would intrest you, then the installation method and everything is available in here, but Chuwi themselves publicly said, they are not encouraging the behavior too much. So you will be on your own with a warranty and everything, but who knows, maybe it’s worth a shot.

Gizchina News of the week

Chuwi LapBook is quite a potent piece for the money and offers 13,3-inch FullHD display, Intel Celeron N4100 processor from the Gemini Lake platform, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB eMMC + 128 GB SSD disk, backlit keyboard, full metal build, HDMI port, microSD port, Windows 10 installed and way more. You can check the full specs and info on the official website.

Or you can eventually wait for the upcoming Aliexpress promotion, because the famous chinese “Double 11” event will start on October 20th and Chuwi will surely crank up the discounts and promos. For the impatient the purchase link is right in here.

This is Chromium OS, not Chrome OS. Quite a big difference.
