Samsung denies filing a lawsuit worth $ 1.6 million against Ksenia Sobchak


Samsung Electronics has denied media reports that it has instituted a legal claim against its Russian brand ambassador for alleged breached of contract terms. A large section of the media, including Gizchina, had reported a few days back that Ksenia Sobchak who is Samsung mobile brand ambassador in Russia was spotted using a phone made by Samsung’s biggest rival – Apple in a widely broadcasted TV show. We reported that “Samsung filed a lawsuit for $ 1.6 million against Ksenia Sobchak for using the iPhone.”

While it is true that the influencer is Samsung’s Russia ambassador, a source familiar with the deal between both party told BBC that she sometimes uses the iPhone and of course any other phone of choice, but always tries concealing from the public/camera in the manner she was caught in the recent video.

Samsung mobile through its BBC representative – Elena Bruchinina in its reaction to the media reports says; “All speculations on the lawsuits and fines are frivolous and nothing more than rumours, and we do not comment on rumours.”

Sobchak through her representative – Kirill Sukhanov in a conversation with RBC did not immediately dismiss or admit the reports.  Kirill Sukhanov said, ” i would not comment on reports by the media, as they are nothing but mere rumours”, further stressing that the “news” originally does not exist.
