Huawei’s 20W SuperCharge Protocol (SCP) in the works

Huawei

Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is one of the leading innovative companies from China and it is consistently working on new ideas. Some time ago, the company announced the massive 40W SuperCharge protocol which came with the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and can fully charge a 4200 mAh battery in one hour. However, the production cost of the 40W charging protocol is quite expensive thus only a high-end smartphone can use this feature.

Now, there are speculations that Huawei is now working on a 20W SCP which should be cheaper. According to a leaked document, the 20W SuperCharge Protocol (SCP) comes with half the amperage that the SCP Gen. 2 uses. On this protocol, we have a 10V/2A charging capacity instead of 10V/4A. This will be perfect for mid-range devices and even some high-end smartphones. Next year, Huawei is expected to announce the Huawei P30 series but it is most unlikely that both smartphones will use the 40W SuperCharge protocol. While the Huawei P30 Pro will go for the highest, the P30 might just settle for the 20W SuperCharge protocol if it is released in time.
