Samsung says Bixby will soon support Google apps

Bixby

In the aftermath of Samsung ‘s announcement that on its next-generation QLED TV opens support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, new additions to Bixby are coming from CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

In short, without taking it so long, the novelty lies in the fact that among the third-party partners of Samsung’s intelligent assistant is now added Google apps.

Google has made a deal with the South Korean giant to provide the latter some of its apps for Samsung Bixby. These include Google Maps, Google Play Store, Gmail and YouTube, but it can not be ruled out that in the future, others may arrive at this point.

Gizchina News of the week

Samsung’s rather half-baked assistant has struggled to gain traction. But Samsung has been working to build a little bit of momentum recently, opening it up to developers late last year. And making it compatible with popular products like Google’s could go a long way to boost Bixby’s adoption.

It is worth to mention that Samsung has also announced that Bixby will be added into the company’s 2019 QLED and premium TVs, along with its new lineup of smart appliances. In addition, it has added in new software partners like Uber, Ticketmaster, and iHeartRadio. Oddly, there was no mention today on when the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Home smart speaker, which also supports Bixby, will go on sale.

However, Until now, the company has not released any more informations for the time being, but we will keep you updated.
