It seems that Facebook is working to bring Instagram login as an option while logging in with apps and websites. Instagram has prototyped the “Main Account” feature that would let users set one of their profiles as a primary account and then link their other accounts to it. Logging into the main account would instantly log them into the rest, as well.
The access to the main account would allow instant access to others without the need to remember multiple user names and passwords, plus a simplified and more immediate access could lead people to switch accounts more frequently and interact more with the platforme.
The accounts will remain separate but the login will be fast and simple, moreover anyone with the password of the main account will have access to the accounts connected to it.
At the moment, third-party apps use Instagram access to offer the ability to create posts and stories to share them on Instagram, but the company is working to expand the potential of the access platform that could become the heir of Facebook Login.
Many users who have stopped using Facebook still maintain a connection with the social network because they still rely on it to access the services.
The code of this function is present in the alpha version of the Instagram app for Android, but for now there is no information about when the functionality could become official.
