On March 12th, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi reiterated that its spring new product launch conference will open on March 18. The company said, “Who said that Redmi is just a mobile phone brand?” This implies that the Redmi’s spring new product launch will also feature new products other than mobile phones, and the new product will be branded “Redmi”. No doubt, the protagonists of this conference are the Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7, which are the second and third models launched by the new independent brand. As of now, there is no indication of what to expect but if we are to make a wide guess, a hone accessory like a headset quickly comes to mind.
As a quick reminder, the Note 7 Pro uses water drop screen and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 mobile platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The camera department of this smartphone is identical to the Redmi Note 7 just that this device uses a Sony IMX586 48MP main sensor. Other features include the handheld super night scene, 4000 mAh battery and support for P2i Life waterproof.
As for the Redmi 7, it comes with a 6.26 inches waterdrop display with a resolution of 1520×720 and a screen aspect ratio of 19:9. Just like the Note 7 Pro, it also uses a 4000 mAh battery and comes in 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM options as well as 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage. Lu Weibing, vice president of Xiaomi Group and the general manager of Redmi brand, said that the overall shape of this smartphone is not much different from that of the Note 7 Pro. It also uses the popular gradient design, dual rear camera, rear fingerprint sensor, and other features. In addition, Lu Weibing also stressed that this new product is adequately stocked and worth looking forward to.
