Xiaomi removes the Mi 8 Explorer from its official stores

Xiaomi mi 8 explorer edition

Exactly a month ago, Xiaomi presented its new flagship smartphone the “Mi 9”, accompanied by the SE version and the Mi 9 Explorer. Since this is a sort of limited edition it was reasonable to expect that its predecessor had made a sad end and in fact that was the first signs that indicate that the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer will be no longer available for purchase.

In fact it seems that the former flagship of the company – the first with a transparent back cover that allows the components under it to be showed- is no longer available for purchase through official sales channels in China. The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer has been removed from the company’s website and even by JingDong, one of the country’s leading buying platforms.

Obviously it was reasonable to expect that, sooner or later, the Explorer model would be exhausted in favor of a new version; some sadness remains, given the end of an era for the brand and the passing to the new generation.

Finally, we emphasize that the device has been removed from the official Chinese stores, but it is likely that the last units are still around and it is not said that you cannot find it – perhaps on offer – in some online portals.

Actually the phone is still listed in the Mi Mall APP and can STILL be purchased in the Mi Home store. Don’t spread false news please 🙂

It’s also reduced price and comes with 1 years platinum Mi Cloud storage plan!
