Chinese Smartphone maker Oneplus is definitely working a on a 5G phones, and that phone will no doubt be part of its next big release – the OnePlus 7, and while the firm has yet to confirm any launch date, rumors have already started circulating about the OnePlus 7. Renders and possible specs of the OnePlus 7 are already making the rounds.

OnePlus in only known for releasing two flagships in a year – one in the first half of the year, followed by an iterative onePlus T upgrade in the latter part of the year. That may be changing soon, as the firm is rumored to be working on more than one model at a go. Following Samsungs lead, the latest scoop from China says the Chinese firm could be launching as much as three versions of the OnePlus 7 Smartphone.

According to a tweet from Ishan Agarwal, a leaker with a proven track record, the usual OnePlus 7 model will be joined by the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, and as you would guess, the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G will share identical specs, albeit the 5G support. The leaker notes that the trio will come with the model numbers;  GM1901,03,03 for the vanilla Oneplus7, GM1911,13,15,17 for the Pro variant and GM1920 for the 5G variant, further noting that the 5G variant will be available on one carrier in the UK – EE.

Gizchina News of the week

Asides from the model number some purported images of the OnePlus 7 Pro and some likely specs have also appeared on Weibo.  And while we have reasons to doubt the authenticity of the images, our source seems confident the images are quite real. As is evidence from the image below, the OnePlus 7 Pro could come with a dual curved screen, with no notch, though the about section of the phone visible on the screen has an image of the OnePlus 6T with a water drop notch, which raises questions about the authenticity of the images though there are speculations it could be a placeholder.

The OnePlus 7 Pro as per the images is tipped to come with a 6.67″ Super Optic display, Snapdragon 855 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, 48MP, 16MP, and 8MP sensors.

This latest leak definitely needs to be digested with a large pinch of salt, given that a lot of things doesn’t just add up here. However, we’ll update this article as we hear more about the rumored OnePlus 7 and its alleged variants.
