Vibrato Teams Up With Qualcomm and OPPO To Deliver Higher Quality Live Video Experience

ROI Vibrato

Qualcomm, Vibrato, and OPPO announced that they had achieved a higher quality live video experience on the Vibrating Short Video App under the same traffic consumption. This is based on the Oppo Reno smartphone, which comes with a Snapdragon 855 mobile platform and supports 10x zoom. The collaboration leverages the power of the new Qualcomm Spectra 380 ISP integrated on the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform to optimize key areas (such as faces) in the image through the Region of Interest (ROI) technology. As a result, the picture clarity of the video content is greatly enhanced. So users can obtain higher quality and diversified content on mobile terminals such as smartphones.

ROI is an intelligent video coding technology that selects key areas from the image for priority or focused analysis; optimizes video encoding performance; reduces network bandwidth usage and storage space, and makes image processing time shorter and more accurate.

Currently, video or live broadcast platforms are becoming an entertainment method widely used by consumers on mobile terminals. The new Spectra 380 ISP enhances the clarity of faces and body in single-player performances while ignoring irrelevant background information. With the same amount of traffic, ROI technology allows users to view higher definition video content and get a better visual experience.

As the leading short video platform in China, it’s quite reasonable that Vibrato has chosen Qualcomm and OPPO. Based on the industry-leading Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, ROI intelligent coding technology is first applied to the Vibrato live broadcast function, allowing users to enjoy clearer picture quality and save on network consumption.

Gizchina News of the week

The 2019 annual flagship Snapdragon 855 mobile platform has set a new standard for photo and video capture of mobile devices. Its new Spectra 380 ISP supports a large number of hardware-accelerated computer vision (CV) capabilities and enables the world’s first CV-ISP to support state-of-the-art computing photography and video capture while reducing power consumption by up to 4 times. The advanced features of the CV-ISP include hardware-based depth sensing, enabling real-time video capture, object classification and object segmentation at 4K HDR@60fps. In addition, the Spectra 380 ISP can support advanced hardware stabilization. Through Qualcomm’s dynamic compensation time domain filtering technology (MCTF), it achieves noise reduction, the video quality is sharper and richer. In addition, the Spectra 380 ISP is the first ISP to support HDR10+ video capture, delivering over 1 billion colors with superior contrast and visual effects.
