The competition in the gaming smartphone segment is obviously getting hotter. Phone maker Nubia immediately confirmed it will be launching a SD 855+ powered Nubia phone, following ASUS announcement that it has the first dig of the SoC. Well, the ROG phone 2 is already official as announced yesterday, although it might not hit the retail stores until September.
For Nubia, it was reported the company will launch an enhanced version of the Nubia Red Magic 3. It was rumored to come to as the Nubia Red Magic 3 Pro. Now, we have some tidbit of info regarding the Snapdragon 855+ powered Nubia phone.
The upcoming Nubia phone with the latest SoC from Qualcomm will launch as the Nubia Red Magic 3S. That is according to a tweet disseminated by a tipster named Sudhanshu Ambhore (Sudhanshu1414).
The report remains largely unconfirmed. But the Nubia Red Magic 3s moniker looks legit as it would better fit the device. This is in line with the fact that it won’t come with much of an upgrade over the standard Magic 3. With the latest SoC, Nubia should be able to deliver a noticeable boost in performance to nubia Red Magic 3S. Aside from the change is SoC, we expect the device to get a boost in battery too.
The new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor is a gaming-centric chip and the most powerful chip yet from Qualcomm. It carries Adreno 640 GPU with higher clock speed for delivering 15 percent more performance. The fast Kryo 485 CPU has been boosted to 2.96 GHz up from the 2.84GHz clock speed of the standard SD855 chipset.
