Today, on August 2, the annual China Joy was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As expected, Xiaomi attended the event as well. At the Intel booth, the Xiaomi Gaming Laptop 2019 was shown. Of course, the company provided the key features of this amazing notebook.

Xiaomi Gaming Laptop 2019

The Xiaomi Gaming Laptop 2019 doesn’t differ much from the previous generation. The main improvement lies in the hardware configuration. It features a 144Hz 72% NTSC display, an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, an NVIDIA RTX 2060 discrete graphics card, 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage (PCIe SSD).

Ray Tracing

However, one of the most attractive additions is the support for real-time ray tracing. Much earlier Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun said this technology provides realistic lighting by simulating the physical behavior of light. By tracing the path of the light that travels from the eye through the 3D scene, it calculates the color of pixels. As you know, in these cases, the light can behave differently – it may reflect from one object to another (reflection); it can be blocked by objects (shadow), and it can pass through transparent or semi-transparent objects (refraction). In combination, these interactions produce the final color of a pixel that will be displayed on the screen.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi Gaming Laptop 2019

The Xiaomi Gaming Laptop 2019 comes with an RTX-capable GPU, which includes a dedicated ray tracing acceleration hardware. Through this, it uses an advanced acceleration structure and implements an entirely new GPU rendering pipeline to enable real-time ray tracing in games and other graphics applications.

The next highlight of Xiaomi’s new laptop is the heat dissipation. Unfortunately, Xiaomi didn’t announce the heat dissipation details of this laptop. The manufacturer will announce more details on August 4, on the official launch date. By the way, this is a common practice for Xiaomi. It likes to announce new gaming products at China Joy, then unveils them at separate conferences.
