Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is not a foldable phone – Lei Jun

Earlier today, a couple of posters teasing the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha surfaced online. The display of this smartphone runs all the way through the side which sparked speculations that this device may be a foldable phone. However, Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun, has cleared the air on the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha display.

Lei Jun said: “MIX Alpha, a subversive concept phone, is absolutely shocking. Weakness is a saying, not a folding-screen phone.” This shows that the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha is certainly not a foldable phone. Thus it obviously uses a waterfall display as we have seen on the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. For now, we do not know if Xiaomi has a solution to the issue of accidental touch.

In addition, the MIX Alpha will support 5G network and will come with the Qualcomm Xiaolong 855+ flagship platform. It is worth mentioning that Mi MIX Alpha may be the official “5G era concept mobile phone” that was previously promoted, which means that it may not be mass-produced. In addition, the MIX Alpha is not a regular iterative product of the MIX series. Thus, there is a possibility that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will still arrive on September 24th. If this is the case, then Mi MIX 4 should come with a 100MP camera.
