According to reports, Huawei is actively deploying 5G to the Chinese market. This includes 5G base stations, communication equipment, smartphones, and servers. By 2020, the company will also have over 50% of the Chinese 5G smartphone market. In addition, the server field is also a major focus for Huawei. Currently, Huawei ranks second in the Chinese market with a market share of between 17% and 19 %.

Due to the pressure from the US, Huawei intends to exclude US manufacturers in the 5G supply chain. It now focuses on non-US companies. In this process, TSMC and a few others will be huge beneficiaries. TTSMC’s advanced semiconductor process technology will be responsible for Huawei’s various OEMs. This includes its Kirin and other AI chips. According to previous report, Huawei’s orders for 5G processors and ASIC chips produced by TSMC continue to increase. As a result, TSMC’s 7nm capacity for Q4 2019 is full.
